BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man faces drive-by shooting and other charges after going on a bizarre crime spree.
Court records state that 28-year-old Austin Giger got ahold of a gun on November 26th and used it to shoot through a window at Pearson Construction on Van Wyck Road.
Investigators say he then stole a U-Haul truck on December 7th and used it to bash through front windows of Big 5 Sporting Goods on the Guide and the Kohl’s store at Bellis Fair Mall.
He continued to the WECU credit union on Orleans Street and fired a gunshot through the front doors and then fired another shot through the front window at Macy’s Furniture Gallery.
Officers found Giger in the U-Haul truck on December 8th and he admitted to firing the shots and driving the truck into the businesses.
