BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A pedestrian behaving erratically caused a shutdown of I-5 through Bellingham Monday afternoon, December 20th.
Both north and southbound lanes were shut down between Iowa Street and Sunset at about 12:45 p.m. when the person was reported to be walking in and out of traffic.
Bellingham Police say officers and a crisis team responded and the situation was resolved peacefully at 2:30 p.m.
The person was taken into protective custody.
There were long traffic back-ups in both directions.
