WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Warming stations have been set up in Whatcom and Skagit Counties after frigid cold temperatures moved in over the weekend.

In Bellingham, you can warm up at the Central Library Lecture Room downtown on Central Ave starting at 9 a.m. today, Monday, December 27th.

There’s also an emergency shelter at Base Camp on Cornwall Avenue.

There’s an overnight shelter at Civic Field that accepts anyone under the age of 29.

Doors open there at 7:30 pm.

Emergency Management has opened a Warming Space in Maple Falls at 8251 Kendall Road after power outages impacted the area.

In Skagit County, the First Steps Center in Burlington is open as an emergency cold weather shelter.

If you need a place to warm up, you should check in at the Friendship House Café on Snoqualmie Street in Mount Vernon, and transportation to the center will be provided.

Law enforcement officers can also drop people off directly at the center if it’s necessary.
