BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Strong overnight winds have caused some hazardous situations this morning, Monday, January 3rd, in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

Puget Sound Energy says that crews are on scene of an outage in Bellingham’s Puget neighborhood, where about 1200 people woke up without power.

PSE crews are currently working to restore power there and they estimate power will be restored around 11 a.m. today.

Parts of rural Skagit County are also experiencing power issues.

The National Weather Service in Seattle says that the winds have stopped for now, but more precipitation is in the forecast for northwest Washington.

Bellingham and other coastal areas will see rain throughout the day and areas east of the city could see a touch of snow this morning.
