DECEPTION PASS, Wash. – Restoration work on the Deception and Canoe Pass Bridges is complete.

WSDOT says work to strip decades of old paint from the structures began in 2018 and they’ve completed the much needed restoration work.

Crews repaired corroded spots and repainted the bridges, which are the only land access to Whidbey Island.

The bridges opened in 1935 and 18,000 vehicles a day cross the scenic passes.
