OLYMPIA, Wash. – Lawmakers in Olympia are looking at passing a bill that would make it a crime to possess a fake COVID vaccine card.

Senate Bill #5667, which was introduced earlier today, would make it a felony to sell someone a fake COVID-19 vaccination card and a misdemeanor to use one.

Those who are found guilty of selling a fake card could face up to a $10,000 fine, 5 years behind bars, or both.

Anyone who knowingly attempts to use the fake cards could faceĀ up to 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.

According to the bill, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has seized thousands of illegal COVID-19 vaccination cards since August 2021.
