BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man is in jail after robbing a downtown bank yesterday, Monday, February 7th.
Police Lt. Claudia Murphy reports officers responded to reports of a robbery at Key Bank on North State Street at about 10 a.m.
Employees said the suspect entered the bank and demanded cash, then left with an undisclosed amount.
A K-9 unit wasn’t able to locate him but did find some articles of clothing he left behind while fleeing.
Another officer recognized the clothing as that worn by 32-year-old Martin Mora-Lopez during a trespass call earlier the same day.
Officers found and arrested Mora-Lopez at 1:00 p.m.
