SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – Sedro-Woolley Police are praising a local restaurant for helping officers catch a car theft suspect.
KOMO reports Lorenzo’s Restaurant alerted police when the suspect’s girlfriend ordered a takeout order.
Police arrived and found Fernando Martinez Jr and a gun in a stolen car parked outside the restaurant.
He attempted to flee, but tripped, and officers were able to arrest him.
Martinez has a long criminal history and is suspected of stealing other cars from the same parking lot earlier this month.
Martinez’s girlfriend was still inside the Lorenzo’s and got away.
Police have not released her identity because the investigation is ongoing.
