SEATTLE, Wash. – King County is ready to end its vaccination requirement for bars, restaurants and other businesses.

County Executive Dow Constantine made the announcement along with Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and county health officials.

“Our success in vaccination, and decreasing case counts and hospitalization, are why today I can announce that we will be lifting the local health order that requires proof of vaccination to enter certain businesses and venues,” said Constantine.

King County has required proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for entry to bars, restaurants, gyms and other businesses for five months.

Businesses will still be free to set their own requirements after the county mandate ends on March 1st.
