BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The suspect in a woman’s murder is now behind bars.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says officers tracked Shilo A. Englert to a house in the 1400 block of Moore Street in Bellingham.
The BPD SWAT team responded at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, February 20th, but he ignored commands to surrender.
He gave up at about 1:00 p.m. after chemical irritants were sent into the house.
Officers tried to arrest Englert at a different residence at about 1 a.m. Sunday but he was able to escape on foot.
He’s suspected of shooting 31-year-old Kasaundra Booker to death on February 8th.
She was found dead in the stairwell of a building in the 1000 block of North State Street.
Englert will have his first court appearance on a 2nd degree murder charge this week.
