BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A 60-year-old man was critically injured when he was hit by a car while crossing Lakeway Drive just after 7 p.m. Monday night.
Bellingham Police say the man was crossing from the south to the north side of the street just east of Yew Street Road when he was hit.
He was wearing all dark clothing and wasn’t in a crosswalk.
The driver was headed east on Lakeway and told officers they couldn’t see the man until he was right in front of the car.
Lakeway was closed in both directions during the investigation.
