ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – A Blaine man will spend 10 years in prison in Canada for trying to smuggle a large amount of methamphetamine across the border from Whatcom County.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say in a news release that Zacchary Marcus Scott Hecock pleaded guilty in Abbotsford Provincial Court on February 22nd.

He and an accomplice were caught crossing the border north of Lynden on an ATV and pulling a trailer loaded with over 400 pounds of meth on July 20th, 2020.

The other suspect fled but has since been identified.

The sentence also prohibits Hecock from owning a firearm for 10 years.
