SUDDEN VALLEY, Wash. – A Sudden Valley man could face a hate crime charge for harassing and intimidating a neighbor.
A Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson says deputies responded to reports of an agitated man pacing and possible gunshots fired along Sudden Valley Drive last Friday afternoon, March 4th.
A resident reported they came home to find fireworks debris on their front step and handcuffs on the door with a note reading “Assassinate Vlad Putin.”
The neighbor later saw 45-year-old Charles Perry with a pistol in his pocket and tossing more fireworks at the front door.
Deputies contact Perry at his nearby home and found human silhouette targets attached to trees in his yard and barricades at his doors.
He admitted that he was at the neighbor’s house and was arrested.
