OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation wants to remind you to lose the studs.
March 31st is the deadline for taking studded tires off your car.
Starting April 1st, driving around with studded tires could result in a $136 fine.
Studs are hard on pavement, so taking them off once they aren’t needed is crucial to preserving our roads.
