OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington State Ferries says they are having trouble getting passengers to comply with the federal transportation mask rule.
A spokesperson told KIRO7 that at least half of current passengers are ignoring the rules or just plain refusing to comply.
A Ferry representative added most of the non-compliance issues are coming from central sound routes, saying that travelers in the San Juans have not been much of a problem.
The Department of Transportation is hoping people can put up with the mandate for just a few weeks more as it is set to expire April 18th and removing non-compliant passengers causes problems for everyone
