FERNDALE, Wash. – An Anacortes man is in custody after robbing a Ferndale residence and holding at least one person hostage.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that officers were called to a home that had been burglarized on Northwest Drive Tuesday night, March 22nd.
Deputies said that at least ten firearms were stolen from the home’s gun safe and a significant amount of other property was also looted.
Later that evening, Ferndale Police were called to investigate a stolen car report at a home on Douglas Road.
Officers contacted the sheriff’s office after a gun found in the front seat matched the serial number of one of the stolen guns from the Northwest Drive home.
A search warrant was issued for the Douglas Roasd home Wednesday morning, March 23rd, at which point deputies arrested 28-year-old Cameron Bielman.
Another person who was inside of the home told investigators Bielman threatened to kill her if she tried to leave.
