WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – After seven years of chasing bad guys, a valued member of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department is retiring to chase toys instead.

K-9 Elliot has been a trusted partner for his handler, Deputy Mike Taddonio, through 650 deployments and more than 250 arrests.

They’ve worked all over Whatcom County and in all kinds of conditions.

The team has also assisted law enforcement efforts in Skagit and Snohomish Counties.

Elliot will enjoy retirement as a member of the Taddonio household while K-9 Luca takes his place as Deputy Taddonio’s new partner in crime fighting.
