BLAINE, Wash. – The Semiahmoo Peninsula could be undergoing a big change soon.
A public meeting was held Wednesday night, March 30th, to discuss the planned development for the construction of up to 500 residential units, as well as retail and commercial services across 353 acres just southwest of the Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club.
Cascadia Daily reports the project, dubbed Semiahmoo Highlands, has lead developers seeing this project adding great value to the local area.
However, many local residents voiced their concerns at the public meeting, citing increased problems with flooding and traffic that could happen with the large new development.
More public meetings are being planned to address concerns, if the project is green-lit the construction will be done in phases, with phase 1 starting as soon as the end of this year.
