BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Junior Ski to Sea Race and Parade are cancelled for a third year in a row but the race is set to return in 2023 under new management.
The Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the junior events in the past but is handing the baton to Whatcom Events.
That’s the organization that presents the Ski to Sea Race and other community events through the year.
Whatcom Events’ race director Anna Rankin says they’re preparing to present the junior race next year but the future of the Junior Ski to Sea Parade is less certain.
Guy Occhiogrosso with the Bellingham Chamber says his organization had to give up the events as they concentrate on the local business community.
