BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Whatcom County man could face more than 10 years in prison after he was convicted of molesting his step-daughter.
Niceto A. Canete was arrested in 2017 after the girl told her mother that he had touched her sexually.
The girl was 13 at the time and told investigators that he had done something similar to her when she was 11 years old.
A jury in Whatcom County Superior Court found Canete guilty of the crimes on March 31.
