The Mariners had to wait an extra 24 hours for their Opening Day matchup with the Twins, but the delay didn’t slow them down. Mitch Haniger got the Mariners on the board with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning and they never looked back, leading from start to finish.

Newly acquired Cy Young winner Robby Ray pitched seven innings, allowing three hits and one run while throwing five strikeouts. The Mariners finished with five hits and allowed only four. Gio Urshela scored the Twins’ only run in the fourth inning.

The M’s match up with the Twins again tomorrow. KPUG coverage begins at 10:00 am, with first pitch at 11:10 am.
