BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham K9 is being credited with nabbing four suspects, in two different crimes, in less than 24 hours.

Bellingham Police posted on social media that K9 Prowl was the only dog on duty Tuesday night, April 26th, when State Patrol officers called for K9 assistance around 11 p.m.

Troopers were attempting to stop a car that was driving recklessly near Smith Road and Hannegan.

The suspects abandoned their car at the end of a dead-end road, but K9 Prowl was able to track both of them down in a wooded area.

Hours later, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies called for the K9 again to help with a burglary at a business on Aldrich Road.

Deputies said that two suspects were seen running in opposite directions into another wooded area.

K9 Prowl quickly found the first suspect, along with a pair of bolt cutters used in the burglary.

After a search behind the business, K9 Prowl sniffed out the second suspect in some blackberry bushes.

All four suspects were booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
