WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – It was a rainy weekend and we’re not expected to get much of a break from the wet weather anytime soon.

The National Weather Service says we can expect some more heavy rain on Thursday, June 9th and Friday, June 10th.

John Gargett with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Division of Emergency Management says we shouldn’t see any river flooding.

“There’s a possibility down in the Ferndale area, sometime Friday into Saturday, it could reach what’s called the action level,” said Gargett. “That’s a weather service term which means there might be some impacts.”

But he says they don’t expect any closures on Slater Road.

The biggest concern is possible urban flooding from heavy rains later in the week.
