FERNDALE, Wash. – A lot has changed on both sides of the border during the course of the pandemic.
Among those changes, a British Columbia man’s mobile home was not where he left it when the border closed two years ago.
Court documents state that the man went to check on his property at a storage area in Ferndale in April, but it wasn’t there.
Investigators tracked the mobile home to a Yelm woman, who claimed she had purchased it from an RV dealer in August.
The RV dealer traced the RV back to a wholesale retailer, who identified a Ferndale man as the suspect.
37-year-old Travis Turley is accused of stealing the mobile home and forging the B.C. man’s name on a title transfer in order to sell it.
Turley was taken into custody on May 31st.
