OLYMPIA, Wash. – A state lawmaker is cleaning up his office in Olympia after vandals attempted to burn it down.
House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox posted video footage online that showed two individuals approach the building around 4 a.m. Monday, June 13th.
The vandals smashed a window before tossing a lit flare inside.
KOMO reports police believe the act of vandalism may have been a diversion because the suspects burglarized a nearby antique store shortly after the incident.
Wilcox says that the building, which also houses House Republican campaign offices, is fine because the flare landed on a masonry floor.
Olympia Police and the Washington State Patrol are investigating the incident.
An attack like this changes you forever. It happened on Andrew's birthday. On the same day unhinged partisans publish a list including Andrew as an extremist, something we all know is BS. The graphic included a lit fuse. Sick. pic.twitter.com/e2WzDKsoQx
