BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Hundreds of people have stepped up to help a Bellingham landscaper who lost both legs in a horrific crash last summer.

Kim Eagle was working on a client’s property on Eldridge Avenue last July when a driver who had been doing methamphetamine crashed into her as she stood behind her trailer.

More than 700 people have donated almost $90,000 to a GoFundMe account set up to help Kim recover.

Much of the money has gone toward retrofitting her home to accommodate her wheelchair.

Friends say her recover is on-going and further donations are welcome.

The driver who hit her, Mark David Johnson, pleaded guilty to vehicular assault and is serving a three year prison sentence.
