BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Fourth of July holiday weekend is upon us and many people enjoy lighting off fireworks.
The Washington State Patrol is reminding residents to only purchase legal consumer fireworks, only use fireworks outdoors and away from buildings, and have a water supply available at all times.

Here’s a list of Whatcom County cities and when you can legally set off fireworks this year:
Bellingham – It is illegal to set off fireworks
Ferndale – Fireworks are allowed on Monday, July 4th from 9 am to midnight
Lynden – July 1st to July 3rd from 9 am to 11 pm. July 4th from 9 am to midnight. July 5th from 9 am to 9 pm
Sumas – June 30th from 9 am to 11 pm. July 1st to July 3rd from 9 am to 11 pm. July 4th from 9 am to midnight. July 5th from 9 am to 11 pm
Everson/Nooksack – July 3rd from 9 am to 11 pm. July 4th from 9 am to midnight. July 5th from 9 am to 11 pm
Whatcom County (Unincorporated) – July 3rd from 6 pm to 11 pm. July 4th from 6 pm to midnight. July 5th from 6 pm to 11 pm
