BLAINE, Wash. – A Blaine man remains in custody after threatening several people with a knife over the weekend.

Whatcom County Sheriff spokesperson Deb Slater said that a security guard at the Birch Bay Village Golf Course was approached by 50-year-old Scott Peterson early Saturday morning, July 9th.

Peterson was holding a knife and told the guard he was going to kill his neighbors.

He also threatened to kill the guard and used the knife to cut a camera wire at the security station.

Peterson left on foot, but returned hours later on a motorcycle.

Deputies and security tried to stop him from leaving, but he was able to get away.

Peterson was eventually located at a family member’s home and taken into custody.

He remains behind bars on $100,000 bail.
