WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Biden made two more nominations for western Washington’s federal bench on Wednesday, July 13th,
They are Seattle lawyers Jamal Whitehead and Kymberly Evanson.
Whitehead has focused on workplace discrimination and unfair labor practices and Evanson has a history of pro bono work focusing on First Amendment and clemency cases.
Biden has put an emphasis on diversity in his nominations, having previously nominated the state’s first Asian American and Native American Federal Judge.
Whitehead, who uses a prosthetic leg, is Biden’s first disabled nominee.
