UPDATE: Bellingham Police identified and arrested the second suspect, 27 year old Brian Kilete, on Monday afternoon.

 

 

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Mount Vernon man was arrested after shooting and injuring two people in downtown Bellingham.

Bellingham Police say that two groups of people began fighting outside of the Underground Nightclub just after midnight on Saturday, July 16th.

The suspect, 23-year-old Gawain Orcutt, got a gun from a nearby car and began firing into the air.

Orcutt shot a 42-year-old man in the foot, then fired at two other victims before leaving the scene.

BPD and K9 Destro were later able to locate Orcutt and take him into custody.

A second suspect, who has not been identified, also grabbed a gun and shot a 20-year-old man in the leg.

That suspect remains at large.
