LANGLEY, British Columbia – Three people are dead just north of the border following a shooting early on Monday morning, July 25th.
Authorities say a man targeted homeless people, fatally shooting two men in the Vancouver, B.C. suburb of Langley.
Police issued a cellphone alert around 6:30 am, saying they were at the scene of several shootings involving transient victims.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said an emergency response team found a suspect not far from where another man was found injured with a gunshot to his leg.
During an interaction with the suspect, police say the man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
A fifth person was also wounded, and remains in critical condition.
Police have not released any information on the suspect or a possible motive.
