Eugino Suárez started the fun in the first inning with a home run that also brought Jesse Winker and Adam Frazier in for a score. Carlos Santana followed it up with a solo home run and Jarred Kelenic closed out the Mariners explosive first inning with a home run that also brought J.P. Crawford to home base.

Jesse Winker scored the Mariners 7th run in the 7th inning with a solo home run. The Mariners held control throughout the game, winning by a score of 7-3.

The M’s lost the first game of the three-game series with the Yankees, but rallied to win the next two and take home a series W ahead of a weekend series at home with the Angels.

In his debut with the Mariners, newly acquired right-hander Luis Castillo pitched 6.2 innings allowing five hits with eight strikeouts. The Mariners acquired Castillo last week in exchange for four prospects: Noelvi Marti, Edwin Arroyo, Levi Stoudt and Andrew Moore.

Rookie phenom Julio Rodriguez is still sidelined with a hand injury that occurred during Sundays game with Houston.
