The Kent School Board voted 2-2 on attempting to end a teacher strike.
The district says the local teachers union has conducted an illegal strike and teachers are in violation of their contracts.
KIRO reports they’re in the third day of the walkout.
The district says its latest offer includes a 6.3% raise, with cost of living adjustments and $2500 stipends distributed over the next two years.
But the teachers association says they’re focusing on class sizes, caseload and mental health issues.
