SEMIAHMOO, Wash.- Community leaders from across the Pacific Northwest will be meeting in Semiahmoo September 12th and 13th for a conference on climate action.

The conference hosted by Microsoft and the Cascadia Innovation Corridor is titled “Cascadia 2050 Vision: Moving to Climate Action.”

Governor Inslee will attend virtually, as will the governors of Oregon and California and the Premier of British Columbia.

Topics covered will include sustainable agriculture, technology, cross-border movement, housing, and transportation at the event that seeks to chart a path toward a net-zero future.

Tickets are on sale until 11pm Thursday, September 1th for the two day event but The Northern Light reports that a free community gathering connected to the conference will take place 12:30 – 2pm September 13th at Peace Arch Historical State Park.

That event will feature local entertainment, food and drinks, and speakers that include Blaine mayor Mary Lou Steward and former governor Christine Gregoire.
