BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A transient man has been arrested after being caught sexually and physically assaulting his former partner.
Court documents state that a witness heard screaming coming from a tent on North State Street on Saturday, August 27th.
A responding officer found the suspect actively raping the victim in the tent.
The victim told investigators that the suspect physically confronted her and her new partner outside of the Bellingham Public Library earlier in the day.
She added that the suspect had been physically and sexually assaulting her for 5 hours before police arrived.
The suspect, 47-year-old John Ross Jr, was arrested and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $100,000 bail.
