BELLINGHAM, Wash. Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood says the city’s emergency pandemic orders will end on October 31st.
He told this week’s City Council meeting that the timing is planned to coincide with the end of Governor Inslee’s state of emergency order.
Fleetwood calls it “an important step toward normalcy” but adds that the pandemic is not completely behind us.
City workers and volunteers will still need to be vaccinated after the orders are rescinded.
But meetings of the City Council, boards and commissions will once again be required to be held in-person and the public will have in-person access to those meetings.
An ordinance requiring hazard pay for some grocery workers in Bellingham will also expire on October 31st.
