FERNDALE, Wash. – Law enforcement descended on a Ferndale neighborhood on Tuesday, October 18th, after a wanted man was reported in the area.

The city says Jade Garza was wanted on a warrant from the Department of Corrections and was known to carry a gun.

Ferndale Police learned he was in the 5300 block of La Bounty Drive and responded at about 1:30 p.m.

Garza fled in a vehicle which was then spotted on Douglas Avenue.

Officers from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department, State Patrol and other agencies joined Ferndale Police in securing the area and communicating with Garza.

Family members helped Garza to eventually surrender without incident.
