NORTH CASCADES, Wash. – You can no longer drive to Artist Point this year.
High country snowfall over the weekend has caused WSDOT to close the last 2.7 miles of the Mount Baker Highway for the season.
The stretch of road is steep with sharp curves and becomes part of the terrain for the Mount Baker Ski Area during winter months.
Back country adventurers can still access Artist Point with the proper gear.
