BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham is looking for artist proposals for a large-scale mural.

The artwork will brighten the newly-opened Birchwood Avenue underpass of I-5.

The city is looking for a design that will cover each of the eight large pillars in the underpass and the adjacent retaining wall.

$70,000 in funding for the project will come from the city’s One Percent for the Arts program, which sets aside one percent of large capital project budgets to be allocated for art

All proposals must be submitted by noon December 2nd, more information can be found on the City of Bellingham website.
