BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Lighthouse Mission held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, November 17th, for the rebuilding of its Ministries facility.

Mayor Seth Fleetwood was among those who spoke at the event and addressed the importance of the project in serving the homeless in Whatcom County.

Construction is expected to start in March or April of 2023, and will include an expanded kitchen, entrepreneurial suites and micro-shelters that will increase the overnight capacity by 100 people.

The new facility will be located on 910 W. Holly Street and will replace the 24-hour Base Camp on Cornwall Avenue.
