BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man faces a number of charges after deputies say he was driving drunk with two unsecured toddlers and an illegal gun in the car.

The sheriff’s department reports deputies observed a vehicle speeding up then slowing down and swerving on Hannegan Road on Friday, November 25th, at 12:30 a.m.

They pulled the driver over on Ten Mile Road and found a two-year-old child in the front and a one-year-old child in the back seat.

Neither was secured in a protective child seat.

The driver, 24-year-old Angel Santos-Guzman, showed signs of impairment and failed a roadside sobriety test.

An inspection of the vehicle revealed a handgun on the floor that was assembled with parts from weapons that had been reported stolen in both Snohomish and Skagit Counties.
