ROSS LAKE, WA. – (KGMI.com) Possible human remains were found in a suitcase in Ross Lake earlier this month.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says they were contacted by the National Parks Service on October 12th about a report of local citizens who found the possible human remains.

The locals found the remains in a suitcase while fishing in the Ross Lake National Recreation Area.

Sheriff’s Office detectives have since interviewed two fishermen who found the suitcase.

The Whatcom County Medical Examiner has possession of the remains.

No other information is being released, as it is an active investigation.
