BELLINGHAM, WA – Veterans Day is coming up and there’s plenty going on around Whatcom County to help honor those who served.
The Lynden Lions Club is holding its 25th Annual Veterans Appreciation Event at the United Methodist Church Social Hall Thursday at 6:30.
It includes a featured speaker, special guest quartet and refreshments.
The Growing Veterans are holding a Veteran’s Day hike at Lake Padden Friday morning.
Anyone who wants to participate can meet the group by the dog park at 11 am.
The Lynden Community and Senior Center is hosting an event to honor veterans Friday at 12:30 pm.
The American Legion Bellingham will hold a celebration at 11 am on Saturday with music from the Bellingham Community Band.
The program will conclude with a 21-gun salute followed by chili and chowder.
Elvis Presley and Celine Dion impersonators will also be performing for veterans at the VFW on Hannegan Road in Lynden at 4 pm on Saturday.
Currently the show is sold out, but third-party tickets may still be available.
