BELLINGHAM, WA – Members of the public are invited to support struggling communities around the area this weekend.
Connect Ferndale and One Whatcom are partnering to host a Community Gathering for Peace and Support this Sunday.
The event will include music, poetry, card writing and a candlelight vigil.
Organizers say the gathering will act to uplift the Lummi Nation as they grieve losses from the fentanyl crisis, as well as acknowledge the pain and suffering caused by conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Those involved will write cards to be delivered to the Lummi, Jewish and Muslim communities around Whatcom County, with snacks provided.
It takes place from 4:45 to 6 pm at Pioneer Pavilion on 2007 Cherry St in Ferndale.
