BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) If you’re in need of a place to stay warm, there are a few options for you in Whatcom County.
The City of Bellingham just opened a daytime warming shelter at the former Lighthouse Mission Drop-In Center on Holly Street.
It’s open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday but will open earlier at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
It also includes transportation to and from the overnight shelter at Civic Field.
Bellingham’s Severe Weather Shelter on N State Street will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. through this Sunday.
Snacks, water and coffee will all be provided at the shelter, which operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Ferndale’s Severe Weather Shelter on Washington Street will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Sunday as well.
Food, clothes, hot showers and laundry services will also be available at that location.
Additional shelter space will be available at the Civic Field locker rooms and at Base Camp.
