District responds to Ferndale High School student with whooping cough

FERNDALE, WASH. – Ferndale School District school and the county health department reach out to people who may have had contact with a Ferndale High School student with whooping cough.

Whooping cough can be deadly for babies, but not nearly as bad for older kids and adults.

If your child becomes sick with a runny nose or cough, keep them at home.

It’s especially important to stay away from places with small children or infants.

The health department is also reminding parents about the importance of up-to-date whooping cough vaccinations.
