SPOKANE, WASH.(AP) – Gonzaga University will not cancel classes on Friday to help students travel to Phoenix for the Final Four of college hoops.
Gonzaga plays South Carolina in a semifinal game on Saturday.
The Spokesman-Review reports hundreds of people signed a petition asking Gonzaga’s president to cancel Friday classes.
The university declined, saying federal standards dictate how many hours of instruction must take place each semester.
