BELLINGHAM, WASH. – The Federal Building on Magnolia Street in Bellingham is scheduled for extensive renovation, starting Saturday.

That means some changes for people who get their mail there.

If you have a post office box in the Federal Building downtown, you’ll want to pick up your mail by Friday afternoon.

Otherwise, postal workers will have to move it to a new location—in the southwest corner of the first floor—and it won’t be accessible until Monday morning.

As for retail postal service in the building, Postmaster Scott Manier tells The Bellingham Herald that will be shut down completely during the renovation, which could last four or five months.

In the meantime, retail postal service is still available at the post office branches on Prospect Street and on Orleans Street.
