SEATTLE, WASH. (AP) – An early warning system for earthquakes is expanding to Washington and Oregon.
The expansion means three states on the West Coast will be testing a prototype that warns people before strong shaking begins.
California has been testing the production prototype since last year.
The system detects earthquakes using a network of ground motion sensors.
