OLYMPIA, Wash – Governor Jay Inslee says he’s encouraged by the changes at the state’s largest psychiatric hospital.
After touring Western State Hospital, he says increases in staffing are benefitting patients and he hopes to get the budget resources to keep that work going.
Some workers are critical of the changes, saying administrators are focused more on politics than clinical care.
They say there remains a shortage of nurses and psychiatrists.
